(Skin type for reference- oily & acne prone. I use a lot of actives so my skin is highly sensitive to the sun. I am a 40 year old woman. I have been using this product daily for approximately 2 months)
I initially purchased this product after seeing it recommended on Skincare and Asian Beauty groups and forums. Delivery took a little while, as to be expected for a product coming from elsewhere in the world!
The packaging is appealing to me- the bright turquoise tube is pretty and summery. The tube design is simple and in my opinion the most practical packaging for sunscreen. It’s lightweight and easy to chuck in your bag for reapplication throughout the day.
The sunscreen itself is unlike any other I have used. It’s gel like in texture- light and refreshing. It spreads over the skin easily and sinks in quickly- leaving no stickiness and no white cast at all. It also doesn’t have the traditional “sun cream smell”, which is a nice change! I have used it on my undereyes with no problem- it doesn’t sting or seem to migrate into my actual eyes. It sits nicely over my moisturiser (I’m currently using The Ordinary NMF) and works beautifully under all the primers I’ve tried it with. I’ve also found that Foundation sits nicely on top of it without a primer.
In terms of sun protection, I’ve been hugely impressed! It’s served me so well through this current heatwave, it seems to remain effective even when I’ve been sweaty-faced (ew) & although I don’t always reapply sunscreen as often as I should, it has still somehow done the job! On one occasion I managed to forget sunscreen on my body (whoops!) and got burnt, but my face remained completely pale and untouched thanks to Biore! Quite impressive considering how the actives I use make my skin super-sensitive to sunlight.
I really can not recommend Biore Aqua Rich Watery Essence enough- it’s worth every penny. I’ve already ordered my second tube 🙂
